This “behind the scenes” post is a little different from the ones so far. Today’s post isn’t about a single photo, but about an entire series.

This year (2026), something pretty special happened for me. For the very first time in my life, I went on vacation by myself. Okay, admittedly it was a short getaway (4 days, to be exact), but it’s still something special when you’re completely on your own on vacation for the first time and have 100 percent of your time to yourself. I was in Bad Wörishofen—a beautiful spa town with a small but charming old town and a magnificent spa park. I actually spent most of my time in that spa park. Pretty early on the first day, I noticed this pond with fish in it—are those koi? I’m not sure, sorry. Unfortunately, I didn’t have many shots left on my Voigtländer, but I swear to you, it was so incredibly relaxing and exciting at the same time to photograph these amazing creatures. If the film had been full, I would have taken all 36 photos at that pond. For me, it was like meditation.
